The first step is 1) make time to eat right. I know when I ain’t got time to eat right I ain’t got time to journal about it. Journaling requires really begin mindful of every detail. 2) Then It is pretty much the thinking food as medicine. 3) back to basics. Lots of clean water, color, healthy fats, protein and fiber. Find out what foods are good to help reduce inflammation and avoid foods that are going to cause inflammation. Google “foods reduce inflammation”. Find out why.

People in the US, just by looking around, don't eat well. It's not just people with HIV. And to one of the other respondents, I think people on HIV treatment tend to gain weight and sometimes are overweight. I used to be obese and I definitely don't want to go back to that. To the other respondent, try to exercise at least three days a week and drink a lot of water. Weight Watchers is a really good program to follow. Maybe losing weight will make you feel better.

No one has ever told me to eat better, and I have a horrible diet. I love sweet food and soda and I love fried things. I asked my doctor if I needed to take vitamin supplements and he said they weren't necessary. All I've ever read online is that people with HIV need to eat better but I've never been told that by a doctor at a doctor's appointment.
