Why are they so surprised? This is what bacteria and viruses do - they can become resistant to things while still remaining potent. So, what was possible to happen happened and they act surprised? It's them being surprised that is surprising to me! It's happened in the cases of multi restart staph and multi resistant gonorhea and TB to name but three So, there can be no surprise that it's happened to HIV.
