Each year, on December 1, World AIDS Day (WAD) provides survivors of the epidemic—both those of us living with HIV and those of us who are not—with an opportunity to pay tribute to the loved ones lost to the virus and to renew our commitment to the search for a cure and the fight for access to treatment for all. In 2017, World AIDS Day observances took the form of moving memorials, performances, art exhibits, celebrations of progress and calls to action: to battle stigma, to support artists living with HIV, to speak out and to keep acting up.
