HIV Stigma may not exist in some areas, but in northern ontario, with the lack of education, most guys in the north still shy away from anyone who is HIV+. They constantly do not hear the U=U message, even when presented to them in simple terms.

All the early 80's survivors have endured many complex phases. Not just stigma but the memory of how it was before 1996. The fear, the loneliness, the tougher times. Fear of being fired or just alineated. The side effects of the firts "cocktails" 12 pills per day at minimum. A community that is on your side on the party or the parade.
