Panelists:
Charles Busch: Legendary personality in theatre and cabaret. Famed as the star and playwright of Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Psycho Beach Party and Tony nominated writer of the Broadway smash hit The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife
Ann Northrop: A celebrated reporter and journalist and co-host of the long-running show Gay USA. Previously a writer-producer for ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS Morning News. Veteran member of ACT UP New York.
Jay W. Walker: A veteran activist, prominent in Gays Against Guns, Rise And Resist, Sing Out Louise, and the Reclaim Pride Coalition. Director of development at Ironbound Community Corporation.
Ken Kidd: Director of special projects and events at NYU College of Arts and Science, Kidd is also a veteran social justice activist. Founding member of Queer Nation and Gays Against Guns.
Melissa Sklarz: First transgender person elected to public office in New York State. A senior government relations strategist at SAGE, she also serves as vice-president of the Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC.
The event will be preceded by a short film about Gilbert’s life by Academy Award-winning producer Bruce Cohen.
