World AIDS Day Red Run
The annual World AIDS Day Red Run is a 10k/5K chipped timed charity fun run through east London’s Victoria Park to raise awareness of, and vital funds for, essential HIV services across the UK.
Taking place on 26 November 2017, the World AIDS Day Red Run is a 10K or 5K charity run through leafy Victoria Park, east London. This year the Red Run is supporting 28 HIV charities across the UK! During registration please select which charity you’ll be running for, or for none of the above. All are welcome, for whatever reason. The Red Run is also perfect for mid season training.
On the day check-in will open at 11:00 and the Red Run opening ceremony will begin at 12:15.
National treasure Dame Barbara Windsor will cut the official Red Run ribbon, lending her support to the cause and waving on the Red Runners!
Members of drag girl band sensation Denim will be this year’s official Red Run hosts. Venerable Eagle London will be on site in a pop-up tent with DJs from legendary Horse Meat Disco providing music before and during the Run.
Christopher Matthews will reprise his role and lead the hilarious group warm up. And to top it all off, Starbucks will be on site providing hot drinks for all!
We’ll also have a giant tent with panels of the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt on display to remind us of the importance of the day.
The Red Run doesn’t finish once you cross the finish line. The kind people at People’s Park Tavern will once again be hosting the official after party in a giant heated tepee just a short 3-minute walk from the finish line.
The route is contained in the park, with little incline/decline, is chipped timed and is open to everyone of all levels, ages and abilities. Timed results will be available on the day and sent via text message. The start and finish line will be located next to Harriers Hall (Cadogan Terrace)
